Soda BlastingSoda Blasting is a newer alternative to older more aggressive forms of cleaning of boat hulls, fire damaged building and lother delicate surfaces. Soda blasting is also more environmentally friendly, it is non toxic, non flammable and non hazardous. Soda blasting uses bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) as the medium, one of the advantages of this medium include solubility, which allows the technician to clean the surrounding area after use, with no more than tap water. Traditionally the gel coat and paint on most boat hulls were cleaned by painstakingly chipping and sanding off damaged material, this has been known to cause damage to the underlying structure of the boat hull. Soda blasting provides a cleaner more efficient process, which will not damage the structure of the boat. Soda Blasting can also be utilised for boat hull inspections, anti fouling paint removal, bilge oil removal, marine growth accumulation removal and paint refinishing preparation. In certain circumstances Soda Blasting can be used to remove blisters in the gel coat, whilst at the same time preparing the area for repair. Another application is the removal of carbon, char, and odors from buildings damaged by fire. Bicarbonate of Soda, being water soluble, can be washed away and so elimates the need for any chemicals. A quick and clean way to restore a building to its natural state. Application Examples:Anti-fouling removal on boat hulls |
